Restaurant LakeSide Bar & Grill has brought the best in American/European flavors to the heart of Citrus County. Offering American cuisine with a French flair, our Executive Chef, Remco van Asdonk has created a superb menu of authentic dishes ranging from Oak grilled Rib Eye to Mahi Mahi with shrimp in Alfredo sauce, seafood entrees, yummy sandwiches and superb steaks! If you're looking for something a tad lighter, we offer a few great salads. My name is Remco van Asdonk, and I am 42 years old. I was born and raised in the city of Haarlem, The Netherlands. I started working as a dishwasher at the age of 15 for a big family corporation; however, that was just a summer job. I came in touch with the chefs of that kitchen and started helping out with their prep work. I liked it so much that I became a cold side cook. The head chef at that time thought I was enjoying it, because I was picking his brain as much as possible. I was determined to become a hot line cook, because my passion for cooking was growing and growing. After two months I became a line cook. I loved it so much, and it was really busy and I had a lot of stress. After 6 months working in the kitchen I knew it: I wanted to do this the rest of my life. So I went to a private culinary institute and got my degree. I started to work in a large hotel as a sous chef and started to learn how that works: paper work, scheduling, cleaning schedules, prepping parties for 500 people a day, it was crazy I can tell you. But I was still hungry for more, so after two years being a sous chef I became a head chef of a large organization, 3-restaurant kitchen and a prep kitchen, a lot on my plate but a very interesting place to work. After three years I went to work as a head chef for a family owned restaurant, they had a bowling alley, inside and outside tennis courts, and also a golf course with a driving range. I had an amazing time. A couple of years later I started working as an Executive chef in a hotel restaurant. I always had a dream to live and work in the United States. Florida has the best weather, and I heard there was a Dutch community in Inverness, so that is why I have been working in Inverness for the last 8 years. The last two years at LakeSide Bar & Grill. LakeSide Bar &Grill is working together with Hendrik Luinge from LakeSide Vacations, property management & vacation rentals and Myriam Reulen from Weston Properties/Agnes W.M. Reulen LLC, Real Estates including property management, long-term rentals and vacation rentals.
All rental homes are located in the immediate vicinity of the Lakeside Golf Course in Inverness. Many even have direct view of the greens from the pool patio. The sizes vary from 8-person executive homes with 3 or 4 bathrooms to 3-bedroom standard homes. All homes have a private pool and many of them can be heated during the colder season. The homes are completely furnished and have a fully equipped kitchen with a washer and dryer, a full size refrigerator, a dishwasher, and a microwave for your convenience. All homes have one or more TVs, wireless Internet, and free unlimited long distance calling throughout the USA and Canada.
